Adam’s sin tainted the human race with no forgiveness process. Until the Cross we had no chance of eternal life. The severe suffering of God’s only son, Jesus, gave us a reversal process to clean the tainted blood from Adam. “But I wanted to undo these great troubles of yours. So I gave you a bridge, my Son, so that you could cross over the river, the stormy sea of this darksome life, without being drowned…” Charry states on page 188 of “Inquiring after God by Repentance and Forgiveness

God wants us to live with Him in His ‘Garden of Eden’. He just asks us to repent and learn how to forgive and be forgiven.

Per James Mcdonald, “You can’t keep doing the sin forever. And be careful not replacing one addiction with another.”

“Therefore now amend your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of the LORD your God; and the LORD will repent him of the evil that he hath pronounced against you.” (Jeremiah 26:13) “Thus says the Lord of hosts: If you will walk in my ways and keep my charge, then you shall rule my house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you the right of access among those who are standing here.” (Zechariah 3:7)

“If sin is never truly removed and your pain is never resolved, you are just an accident waiting to happen.”

The good news is, God is a God of mercy. “For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; And his truth endureth to all generations.” (Psalms 100:5) This is where forgiveness comes to play in the salvation process. You are saved once you repent of your sins. You can actually feel God’s mercy when God forgives.
